Mr. Oyindamola Olukanmi, the Group Head and Media Manager for the event, provided this assurance in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Osogbo. He confirmed that preparations for the festival, scheduled for August 9, are well underway, with various sub-groups working together to ensure its success.

Olukanmi highlighted that extensive coordination with state security agencies is in place to create a secure environment for all participants, including both local and international visitors.

“Security personnel from the Nigerian Army, Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Road Safety Corps, Odua People Congress, Amotekun, and other vigilance groups have been mobilized,” Olukanmi said. “We are fully prepared and expect a large turnout of tourists from across Nigeria and the world.”

Additionally, accommodations and major event locations such as hotels, Ataoja’s Palace, and Freedom Park have been arranged to ensure visitor comfort.

Olukanmi also emphasized the importance of support from stakeholders in the culture and tourism sectors to ensure the event’s success. He assured that the 2024 festival aims to be a memorable experience for all attendees.

The Osun Police Command has confirmed that comprehensive security measures will be implemented before, during, and after the festival. Osun Police Public Relations Officer SP Yemisi Opalola stated that ongoing “End Bad Governance/End Hunger” protests would not disrupt the event, as organizers have agreed to suspend their activities in the area on August 9.
