In a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo expressed his sympathy with the victims, noting that the fire has had a significant impact on the livelihoods of many traders.

“Governor Soludo extends his heartfelt condolences to the victims of the devastating fire that occurred at Ahịa Mgbede, opposite the New Motor Spare Parts Market in Nnewi, early on Tuesday morning.

“Soludo emphasized the profound loss of property and the struggle faced by numerous business owners, highlighting the immense hardship inflicted by the incident.

“While offering his support to the affected individuals during this challenging period, the Governor acknowledged the commendable efforts of the Anambra State Fire Service and other emergency responders who worked tirelessly to contain the blaze and reduce further damage,” the statement read.

Governor Soludo urged market leaders and business owners across the state to exercise caution and strictly adhere to fire safety protocols to avoid similar tragedies in the future.
