Traditional Leaders From Niger Republic Pay Condolence Visit To Yobe State

Mamman Mohammed, the Director General of Press and Media Affairs to the Yobe State Governor, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday. The Emir of Maine-Soroa, Abdou Katielou Katiella Gasso, who led the delegation, expressed that as close neighbors, they felt a duty to support Yobe State during this difficult time.

He emphasized the strong cultural, religious, and familial ties between the people of Yobe State and Niger Republic, noting that “what affects one automatically affects the other.”

Governor Mai Mala Buni, in response, appreciated the traditional rulers for their demonstration of compassion and solidarity. He praised their commitment to maintaining the traditional bonds between the two regions, stressing the need to continue fostering such relationships.

Earlier reports by DAILY POST revealed that on September 1, 2024, ISWAP terrorists attacked Mafa, leading to numerous casualties. Additionally, floods in Yobe have caused severe disruption, cutting off several local government areas from the state capital, Damaturu, by washing away bridges and roads.
