An official from the Nigeria Customs Service, identified as Abdulwahab Magaji and stationed in the Federal Capital Territory, reportedly took his own life at his residence on Binta Street, within the Farm Estate area of Abuja.

According to a report by Punch, a senior law enforcement officer disclosed that the tragic incident occurred on Monday, May 6.

Upon receiving notification from the family of the deceased, who alerted authorities that Magaji had shot himself with a rifle, the police promptly responded, arriving at the scene to investigate.

Upon their arrival, Magaji was swiftly transported to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed his passing.

“A family member of the deceased informed us that CSC Abdulahi Abdulwahab Magaji, a customs officer stationed in Abuja, had taken his own life at his residence in Farm Centre using a pump-action rifle,” the source stated.

Subsequently, Magaji’s body was handed over to his family for burial, in accordance with Islamic traditions.
