According to a press release from the Yobe Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, the incident occurred on September 29, 2024, around 6:20 PM. It was reported that Inspector Bulama, 38, was engaged in a heated argument with Abdulmalik Dauda (also known as Baksha), 39, from Pompomari Ward, Damaturu, concerning an unresolved transaction in the Zango Area.

The disagreement escalated into a physical confrontation, during which Bulama allegedly stabbed Dauda in the chest. During the altercation, Bulama also sustained injuries to his head.

Bulama was arrested at the ‘C’ Divisional Police Headquarters, where he had sought refuge. The state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has initiated an investigation, and Bulama remains in custody pending internal disciplinary proceedings and possible prosecution.
