Reports from the community suggest that unidentified individuals, who had come to visit Adekunle, stabbed her to death, causing shock and fear among fellow students and residents in the vicinity. Despite rumors of cult involvement circulating, a source emphasized that this might not be a cult-related matter, urging the authorities to investigate thoroughly.

The community member stated, “We found her in the pool of her blood in her room. She was stabbed to death by yet-to-be-identified persons who came visiting. We know this is not a cult-related issue as some people are propagating. We have reported the case to the police. We are imploring the Ondo State Government to please look into the matter and ensure that the deceased gets justice.”

Upon reaching out to the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmation of the incident was received. While Odunlami could not verify whether the incident was cult-related, she assured that the police had initiated an investigation. The deceased’s body has been transferred to a hospital’s morgue.

“She was killed, but her corpse had been moved to the hospital’s morgue, and we have begun our investigation on the case. We are not sure if it’s a cult-related activity because she was murdered in her room situated off the campus, but our investigation is going to unravel the cause,” Odunlami stated. The community and university community await the outcome of the police investigation, hoping for justice for the tragic loss of Ifeoluwa Adekunle.
