The victims were the Elesun of Esun Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsakin, and the Olumojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Samuel Olusola. The Alara of Ara (Ikole), Oba Sunday Fatoba, managed to escape the attack along Oke Ako-Irele Road. Ogundare commended the collaborative efforts of security agencies in making the arrest.

While no arrests were made during the operation to release abducted school pupils and teachers, some suspects were apprehended at Oke Osun, Ikere Ekiti, Igbo Okah, and Iju-Ikere boundary forest. The AIG emphasized the police’s stance against ransom payments and praised the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, for their roles in securing the release of the abducted individuals.
