In a harrowing incident that unfolded in Damba quarters, Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, a group of terrorists kidnapped Alhaji Sabiu Abdulkadir and his three daughters, identified as Hadiza, Fateema, and Aisha. A resident of the community, Aliyu, shared details, stating, “The family only listened to their voices on the phone. Nobody knows their exact location since the day they were abducted. The money they demanded is much – N100 million. But I heard the family has been working on how to raise the money and maybe to beg the bandits to reduce the price.”

Checks on Sabiu’s Facebook page corroborated the incident. Abdulmaleek Mkdee, another user, confirmed the kidnapping and expressed concern about the kidnappers threatening the lives of the captives due to delays in securing the ransom.

He wrote, “Today marks 5 days since the occurrence of two eventful tragedies that took place in the Damba Quarters of Gusau Zamfara state, which involved the kidnapping of Alhaji Sabiu Abdulkadir Sabiu Abdulkadir together with his 3 daughters (Hadiza, Fateema, and Aisha). And now, as of yesterday, the bandits called and are demanding a sum of 100 Million Naira ransom (For that of Alhaji Sabiu), and are threatening the lives of these innocent people.”

Abdulmaleek appealed to the Zamfara state government to intervene and assist the affected families. He emphasized Alhaji Sabiu’s significant contributions to the community and urged the government to step in promptly.

This incident follows the recent abduction of a lecturer and director from the Federal University Gusau, Dr. Bello Janbako, in the same Damba quarters. The terrorists, overpowering security operatives, invaded Janbako’s residence, highlighting the escalating security challenges in the region.
