Transfer Blow: Yira Sor Ruled Out For Six Weeks With Hamstring Injury

Super Eagles winger Yira Sor is expected to spend approximately six weeks on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury during Amedspor’s 2-1 comeback victory over Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the 26-year-old Nigerian international suffered the injury at the Seyrantepe Spor Kompleksi Stadyumu after playing a key role in Amedspor’s comeback.

Trabzonspor initially took the lead through Mohamed Salah before Sor levelled the score in first-half stoppage time.

However, Sor was unable to continue after the interval and was substituted four minutes into the second half, with fellow Nigerian forward Gift Orban coming on in his place.

Orban later completed Amedspor’s comeback by scoring the decisive goal in the 90th minute to secure all three points for the Turkish side.

Amedspor confirmed the extent of Sor’s injury on Tuesday, September 1, following medical examinations and an MRI scan.

The club revealed that the scan showed an approximately 11-centimetre muscle injury to Sor’s left biceps femoris, a hamstring muscle, with treatment and rehabilitation expected to take about six weeks.

The injury comes as a setback for Sor, who joined Amedspor from Belgian Pro League club KRC Genk in August.

The Nigeria international has made three league appearances for the Turkish club this season and has scored one goal.
