Transfer Twist: Napoli Issues New Demands To Galatasaray In Osimhen Deal, Lookman Draws Elite Club Interest

The future of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen remains uncertain as Napoli and Galatasaray have yet to finalize terms for his proposed €75 million permanent transfer.

Although Galatasaray is ready to pay the full asking price, Napoli is holding firm, insisting on a 20% sell-on clause in any future sale—an unusually steep demand that has brought negotiations to a standstill.

Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu reports that Napoli’s tough stance includes not only the sell-on clause but also strict payment structure conditions.

According to Italian transfer insider Matteo Moretto, the Serie A side wants the remaining €35 million paid in full by the end of 2026, backed by a formal letter of credit.

Galatasaray had countered with a €40 million upfront payment and €35 million in installments—a deal Napoli rejected outright, instead demanding €55 million immediately. This has pushed the talks into a deadlock.

Meanwhile, Osimhen, 26, has made it clear that his priority is a permanent move to Turkey. As per Fabrizio Romano, the Nigerian striker recently submitted a medical exemption to skip Napoli’s pre-season training under new manager Antonio Conte, signaling his determination to return to Galatasaray—where he impressed during a loan spell with 37 goals and 8 assists in 41 matches.

Osimhen has also turned down a lucrative €30 million-a-year deal from Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, despite pressure from agents and intermediaries.

With talks dragging on, the transfer saga is rapidly shaping up to be one of the summer’s most intense, as Galatasaray pushes to close the deal while Napoli refuses to back down unless all demands are met.

At the same time, another Nigerian forward, Ademola Lookman, is attracting serious interest from top clubs across Europe. The 27-year-old winger returned for Atalanta’s pre-season medicals on Monday amid growing transfer speculation.

Lookman, who bagged 15 goals and 5 assists last season, helped Atalanta secure a third-place Serie A finish and earned a place in the Serie A Team of the Season, finishing as the league’s third-highest scorer—behind Mateo Retegui (26) and Moise Kean (19).

Interest in Lookman is heating up, with Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Napoli, and several Premier League sides monitoring his situation.

According to Claudio Raimondi via Sport Mediaset, Napoli has already submitted a bid of €25 million plus forward Giacomo Raspadori to acquire Lookman. However, Atalanta values the player at around €50 million, which could complicate any agreement.
