Safina Namukwaya, a resilient 70-year-old Ugandan woman, has made history by giving birth to twins, a baby girl and boy, through IVF treatment. The medical team at the hospital reported that both the mother and her newborn twins, delivered via caesarean section, are in good health. Namukwaya’s remarkable journey marks her second delivery in three years, as she welcomed a daughter named Sarah in 2020.
Despite facing complications during her pregnancy and enduring the challenges of being abandoned by the father of her children, Namukwaya’s perseverance and strength have become a testament to the human spirit. In an interview with NTV channel, she shared her experiences of past miscarriages, the loss of her husband in the 1990s, and the stigma within her community for not having children.
Namukwaya disclosed the societal pressures she faced, recounting a time when a young boy heckled her, claiming she had been cursed to die without a child. Undeterred by judgment and abuse, she left her fate to the Almighty God, who eventually answered her prayers with the birth of her first daughter in 2020. CONTINUE READING
