Previously seen as strong contenders for Trump’s upcoming cabinet, both Republicans served under his first term, with Haley as U.N. Ambassador and Pompeo as Secretary of State and CIA Director.

“I will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to join the Trump Administration, which is currently in formation,” Trump posted on Truth Social on Saturday.

Despite the firm announcement, Trump noted he valued their prior service, saying, “I very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously, and would like to thank them for their service to our Country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
