According to reports gathered on Monday, the incident took place in the early hours of Sunday, around 4:00 am. A statement released by the police and made available to *PUNCH Metro* revealed that a man named Omotayo Segun Orojo had reported the crime to the police.

Orojo stated that around 1:14 am on Sunday, he received a phone call from Mr. Usman, a local security guard, informing him that his shop, located at Rolak Junction in Imowo, Ijebu Ode, had been broken into, and various items had been stolen.

Upon rushing to the scene, Orojo discovered that not only his shop but other nearby shops had also been broken into. Items stolen from the shops included an air conditioner, a gas-refilled can, evaporator pipes, a refrigerator capacitor, and an air conditioner installation plate.

The suspects, identified as Onitilor Idris (28) and Okanlawon Sunday (27), were apprehended with the help of local residents. The Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrests and assured that investigations were ongoing. She added that any further developments would be communicated to *PUNCH Metro*.
