Ugochinyere Accuses Anyanwu And Damagum Of Plotting To Betray PDP And Sell It To APCThe Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State has strongly criticized the party’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, and Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, accusing them of orchestrating the expulsion of Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere in a bid to diminish his influence within the party.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The accusation was made in a statement issued by the party executives from Umukegwu/Umuopia ward and Ideato North Local Government Area on Monday, following reports that Ugochinyere, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ideato North/Ideato South federal constituency and spokesman for the Coalition of United Political Parties, had been expelled from the PDP.

However, the local council leaders dismissed the reports as “fake news,” reaffirming Ugochinyere’s continued membership and leadership within the party.

The statement, signed by Chief Mathias Onuebunwa, chairman of Umukegwu/Umuopia ward, and Chief Emeka Eze, chairman of Ideato North LGA PDP, emphasized that Ugochinyere remains a key figure in the PDP, and the local leadership would never support his expulsion. The statement read:

“Ikenga Ugochinyere is a strong and respected member of the PDP. At the ward and local government levels, we have no reason to suspend him, let alone expel him. On the contrary, we owe him a debt of gratitude for his tireless efforts to rescue the PDP from political traitors who are colluding to sell the party to the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by Anyanwu and Damagum, under the guidance of their paymaster in the APC government.”

The party executives further stated that Ugochinyere, as the highest elected PDP official in Imo State, is above the petty political games of those seeking to appease their disgraced benefactors. “Ikenga’s leadership is unshaken. He is the state leader of Imo PDP, and we have full confidence in him,” the statement continued.

They reaffirmed his status as the state leader of the party, recognizing his role as the highest-ranking elected official in Imo PDP, and tasked him with leading the party’s restructuring and reconciliation efforts.
