Insiders who spoke to Punch detailed that a major issue affecting Ohanenye’s reputation was her controversial threat to sue the United Nations. She accused the organization of mismanaging and failing to remit funds meant for Nigeria, a claim that stirred controversy in diplomatic circles.

Additionally, Ohanenye reportedly caused disruptions at two significant events in Abuja. Sources indicate that she insisted the organizers obtain clearances from her ministry before proceeding, leading to public scenes that drew widespread criticism.

“She is a controversial figure. Her conduct stepped on too many toes, and the President could no longer overlook her excesses. Her dramatic approach as a minister was unsustainable,” said a source from the APC secretariat.
