UNICEF recommends a diverse diet from eight main food groups for young children, yet millions lack access to even five of these groups daily, with 181 million experiencing extreme deprivation, often limited to just two food groups.

This limited diet significantly increases the risk of severe malnutrition, impacting not only physical health but also cognitive development and future economic opportunities.
