Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has emphasized that his frequent visits to project sites are aimed at keeping contractors accountable and ensuring timely and high-quality project delivery. Wike made these remarks on Monday after inspecting ongoing road projects in Guzape and the comprehensive development of the arterial road ‘N20’ at Jahi District.

The N20 road stretches from the Northern Parkway (Shehu Musa Yar’adua Expressway) to the Outer Northern Expressway (Murtala Mohammed Expressway). Wike clarified that these unscheduled visits are crucial to verifying whether contractors are meeting their commitments and adhering to agreed timelines.

Expressing satisfaction with the progress observed during the inspection, the minister disclosed that the contractors had pledged to complete most projects by May. He stressed the importance of staying vigilant to ensure that these promises are fulfilled, stating, “We make sure that we go round to see the commitments made by the various contractors and to see whether they are going to fulfill the promises they had made.”

Wike further highlighted the positive developments witnessed during the recent inspections, stating, “The last time I came here, the work was not up to this extent, and I am very much impressed with what I have seen. This shows that God willing, by May, they will hand over these projects to us and then we will hand them over to the public.
