High Chief Abiodun Ogunyemi, a prominent community leader known as the Ajagunna of Odo-Ayedun, emphasized that the road’s constant deterioration has become an annual issue. Recent heavy rainfall further exacerbated the damage to this crucial stretch.

Ogunyemi explained that commuters now have to take two different vehicles for the relatively short journey between Odo-Ayedun and Ayebode Ekiti. This situation has also posed significant challenges for local farmers, hindering their access to their farms.

He expressed his concern that if the issue remains unaddressed, it could lead to severe socio-economic problems in the region. The majority of the residents are farmers who are struggling to maintain their farms due to the road’s condition.

Ogunyemi urgently called upon the relevant authorities to take immediate action to rectify the situation, as failing to do so may result in potential food shortages caused by farmers’ inability to reach their farmlands.
