US-China Trade Tensions Soar As Beijing Imposes 34% Tariffs On American Imports

The Ministry of Commerce revealed on Friday that the new tariff would apply to all US-imported goods starting April 10.

According to the Financial Times, tariffs on Chinese exports are anticipated to exceed 60 percent following the US president’s decision to impose “reciprocal” tariffs of 34 percent on top of existing duties.

Beijing has condemned the new US tariffs, labeling them as “a typical unilateral bullying tactic” that “violates international trade regulations and significantly infringes on China’s legitimate rights and interests.”
