Speaking at a reception for the newly appointed Managing Director of the Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority (SRRBDA), Abubakar Mallam, at the Government House, Idris vowed to end the practice of a select few controlling Kebbi’s nominations for federal boards and commissions for personal benefit.

“The era of singlehandedly selecting candidates for federal boards and parastatals is over,” the governor declared.

Idris also explained that the delay in issuing Mallam’s appointment letter was due to attempts by certain individuals to replace him, but he remained steadfast in his decision.

Highlighting Mallam’s significant contributions to Kebbi, including building schools, Islamic institutions, and social amenities, the governor affirmed that Mallam was the ideal candidate for the position.
