A United States congressman, Riley M. Moore, has renewed calls on the administration of Donald Trump to take what he described as “forceful action” to protect Christians in Nigeria.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Moore made the appeal while reacting to the recent killings in Plateau State, alleging that Christians in the Middle Belt were being deliberately targeted in violent attacks.

According to him, “Enough is enough.”

The lawmaker claimed that Christians who had gathered for a mass burial of victims from an earlier attack were themselves killed by what he described as “radical Islamic terrorists.”

He accused Nigerian authorities of failing to act despite receiving intelligence warnings ahead of repeated attacks.

Moore stated that the Nigerian government had the capacity to confront terrorism and prevent the continued killings of its citizens but had failed to respond effectively.

He further alleged that Christians were being murdered because of their faith, describing the situation as deeply alarming.

The congressman characterised the violence as an “ongoing Christian genocide” and called for stronger American involvement in Nigeria’s security response.

Moore also expressed appreciation that the Trump administration had specifically included the protection of Christians in Nigeria within its updated counterterrorism strategy.

He urged the U.S. government to intensify efforts to defend Christian communities in Nigeria’s Middle Belt, which he described as the centre of the ongoing violence.
