Uzodinma’s Chairmanship Not Under Threat — PGF Speaks Amid Speculation
The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has denied reports claiming that the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has been removed as chairman of the group.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The forum described the circulating report as false, misleading, and without any factual basis, stressing that no meeting was held where such a decision was discussed or approved.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Director General of the forum, Folorunso Aluko, dismissed the claim and urged the public to disregard it entirely.
He said the secretariat has no record of any meeting or resolution relating to the removal of Governor Uzodimma, adding that the report was fabricated.
Aluko maintained that Uzodimma remains the chairman of the forum and continues to perform his duties in that capacity.
He also noted that the forum remains stable, united, and focused on its responsibilities despite the spread of what he called unfounded rumours.
The denial comes in response to reports alleging that about 20 governors met in Abuja and replaced Uzodimma shortly after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu submitted his presidential nomination form.
The claims also suggested that governors from Ogun, Bayelsa, and Enugu States were part of the alleged meeting where the decision was taken.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the report is entirely false, baseless, and without an iota of truth,” the statement added.
