Originally, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had appointed Shettima to lead the Nigerian delegation at the summit. However, due to the incident, a team of ministers represented Nigeria in his place.
Upon returning, Vice President Shettima promptly briefed President Tinubu on key national affairs and updated him on his other recent official engagements, which included a significant trip to Sweden. In Sweden, Shettima represented Nigeria in high-level bilateral discussions, meeting with prominent officials such as Crown Princess Victoria and the Swedish Prime Minister to discuss opportunities for strengthening Nigeria-Sweden relations.
These talks underscored Nigeria’s ongoing commitment to fostering international partnerships and promoting economic growth.
On Monday, the State House released photos of Shettima and President Tinubu in conversation at the Presidential Villa. President Tinubu, who returned to Nigeria on October 19, 2024, has resumed his duties and continues collaborating with his Vice President on both national and international priorities.
