President Tinubu assigned Shettima to lead Nigeria’s delegation at the global forum while he focuses on urgent domestic matters, including the recent flood disaster in the country.

During the session, Vice President Shettima is expected to deliver Nigeria’s national statement, participate in important meetings, and hold bilateral discussions. The General Debate, which carries the theme *‘Leaving No One Behind: Acting Together for the Advancement of Peace, Sustainable Development, and Human Dignity for Present and Future Generations,’* will take place from September 24 to 28, 2024.
