Reacting to reports of abduction and the alleged killing of a pregnant woman and her sibling in the Igboho area of Oyo State, Igboho directed a two-hour deadline to Fulani leaders within the community.
He accused some members of the Fulani community of being involved in kidnappings across the area and cited incidents involving a pregnant woman, ransom payments, and alleged killings linked to the abduction.
The activist warned that Fulani leaders would be held accountable if the body of the pregnant woman was not produced within the stipulated timeframe.
“The person who delivered the ransom was killed, while only one person was spared,” he said, condemning the incident and insisting that such occurrences must not happen again.
“I am Sunday Igboho. I have remained calm because my elders advised me to do so. Let this be the last time such an incident happens,” he stated.
Shortly after the ultimatum, videos circulating online showed residents celebrating what was described as the release of the abducted family. However, the exact circumstances surrounding their release could not be independently verified as of the time of this report.
