Viral Video Shows Masquerade Attacking Female Nurse In Nsukka, Residents Demand Justice

A nurse in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State endured a harrowing assault on Sunday by a group of masquerades, according to reports. The victim, identified as Miss Blessing Ogbonna, works at a private hospital in Nsukka.

A circulating video depicts the nurse, dressed in appropriate attire, being lashed until she fell from a motorcycle. Despite her attempts to flee, Blessing was relentlessly pursued and attacked by the masquerades, ultimately falling into a deep drainage channel.

In an interview with Chinedu Anichi’s online TV, Miss Blessing recounted that she was unable to see the masquerades until it was too late to escape, as her view was obstructed by a tipper truck while en route to the hospital.

Expressing her trauma and advocating for justice, she disclosed that the masquerades showed her no mercy during the assault.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage among Nigerians, with many calling for the immediate prohibition of the ‘Oriokpa Nsukka masquerade’, which they allege has gained notoriety for engaging in various criminal activities.
