The National Judicial Council (NJC) has issued a warning regarding a suspected scheme aimed at defrauding retired judicial officers nationwide.

In a statement released to the press on Sunday, the NJC expressed concern over reports of retired judges receiving numerous phone calls from individuals claiming to be able to expedite the processing of their retirement benefits for a fee.

The NJC vehemently disassociated itself from any such arrangement and cautioned retired judicial officers to exercise caution and not to fall prey to these fraudulent tactics.
