Nigerian musician, Habeeb Okikiola, famously known as Portable, has made a plea to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) amidst the legal actions taken against some public figures. Addressing his audience in a recent Instagram live session, Portable implored the anti-corruption agency to pardon him if any evidence of Naira abuse exists against him.

Asserting that his actions were never intended to deface the Naira, Portable emphasized that his money spraying was aimed at assisting the less privileged. He expressed his reverence for authority and vowed not to engage in such misconduct again.

Furthermore, the ‘Zazoo Zeh’ singer urged his followers to open bank accounts, stating his commitment to transferring funds to his supporters and those in need through these accounts moving forward.

In his words, “I use my money to foster love and relationships. Did I spray money at the club? I was spraying money in areas where assistance is needed. I didn’t deface the Naira; I have helped numerous individuals. After God, it’s the Government. Please forgive me if you have videos of me spraying money; there will be no more money spraying.”

The EFCC’s imminent arraignment of socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, for Naira abuse, along with the recent imprisonment of crossdresser Bobrisky for a similar offense, has drawn attention to the agency’s crackdown on financial infractions.

The EFCC has affirmed its commitment to investigating and prosecuting individuals involved in Naira abuse. It highlighted ongoing investigations into several celebrities and emphasized its stance on holding everyone accountable, without exceptions, for such infractions.
