We Are Sad’: Popular Radio Station Fresh FM Confirms Devastating Fire Outbreak

In a statement released Friday night by Samson Akindele, Group Head of Corporate Affairs, Fresh FM Nigeria and Yinka Ayefele Limited, the station revealed that the blaze severely damaged the studios of Fresh 105.9 and Blast 98.3.

“We are deeply saddened to inform the public that the Head Office of Fresh FM Nigeria, Challenge–Ibadan, was gutted by a major fire this evening, August 15, 2025.

“The incident left the studios of Fresh 105.9 and Blast 98.3 badly burnt, alongside nearby offices such as the newsroom, transmitter/server room, and several pieces of vital equipment, all destroyed during active broadcast operations.

“Attempts to contain the fire with in-house extinguishers before the arrival of professional firefighters proved unsuccessful due to the intensity of the flames.

“At present, we cannot ascertain the exact cause or total extent of the damage.

“We sincerely appreciate all the good-spirited Nigerians who assisted us — from residents around our studio complex, who were the first responders, to passersby and officials of the Oyo State Fire Service. Your support during this emergency means a lot to us.”
