Disgruntled Nigerians took to the streets of Ibadan, Oyo State, to protest against the worsening hardship in the country. The protest, organized by various groups to coincide with Independence Day on October 1, also began in Ikeja, Lagos.

Despite a heavy security presence in Ibadan, a number of protesters gathered to participate in the demonstration. One protester’s placard read, “End bad governance now,” reflecting the general sentiment of dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs.
