As the saga continued, President Tinubu appointed Abdulkarim Chukkol, the Commission’s Director of Operations, as the interim head of the EFCC. However, in a significant shift, Ola Olukoyede was officially announced as the new leader of the agency on October 12. Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesman, highlighted that Olukoyede’s tenure would span an initial four years, with the possibility of renewal. This decision came on the heels of Bawa’s resignation and saw Olukoyede’s official confirmation barely a week later.
