Speaking at the flag-off ceremony for a new housing project for state judges on Friday, Governor Eno revealed that these individuals are reportedly aggrieved over unmet expectations following their support for his 2023 electoral campaign. He condemned what he described as a growing culture of entitlement tied to government resources.

The governor made it clear that he owes no political support group any special reward and vowed to take firm action against anyone attempting to disrupt the peace in Akwa Ibom.

“I’m addressing our young people directly,” Eno said. “We are creating employment opportunities, yet some youth leaders are reportedly scheming to import mercenaries to disturb the peace.”

“We are aware of your moves, and we’re fully prepared. Under my leadership, this state will remain peaceful, and we will decisively confront anyone or any group trying to sabotage that peace.”

He criticized the entitlement mentality, stating:
“Let us put an end to this entitlement mindset. Many behave as though the government owes them everything, feeling overlooked or underappreciated. It’s only in Akwa Ibom that people act this entitled — watching the Government House like a bullion van is about to roll out cash.”

He concluded with a stern warning:
“And these same people will be the first to run to the EFCC, accusing you of mismanaging funds. Not me. I will stand by every decision I’ve made.”
