Wedding Plans Cut Short As Nigerian Man D!es Days Before His Big Day
A Nigerian man identified as Mgboawaji Owor has reportedly died just days before his scheduled wedding ceremony in Rivers State.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Owor was expected to hold his traditional wedding ceremony on Saturday, October 3, 2026, with the reception scheduled for Sunday, October 4.
The circumstances surrounding his death had not been disclosed as of the time of filing this report.
Owor was reportedly a staff member of Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic in Rivers State. His death was confirmed in a Facebook post by a user identified as Monday Rufus, who described the deceased as a respected member of the Andoni Students Union Association (NUAS), Kenpoly Chapter.
Rufus expressed grief over the death, describing Owor as a mentor, adviser, father figure and supporter who was deeply involved in the activities of the student association.
According to the post, Owor was known for supporting Andoni students at the institution, with his residence in Bori reportedly serving as a welcoming place for students seeking guidance and assistance.
The Facebook user also expressed shock that Owor died shortly before his traditional wedding, describing the development as a painful and unexpected loss.
Members of the Andoni Students NUAS Kenpoly Chapter reportedly expressed their condolences to Owor’s family, including his wife and children, while mourning what they described as the loss of a valued mentor and father figure.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, while tributes continue to emerge following the tragic development.
