We’re Good — Baba Ijesha Reveals Where He Stands With Mr Latin

Published

Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has spoken about his relationship with Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) President, Bolaji Amusan, better known as Mr Latin, describing him as a brother despite their differences.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Baba Ijesha made the remarks while reflecting on his relationship with colleagues following his release from prison. He said he had chosen not to hold a grudge against Mr Latin, preferring instead to remember the support and positive experiences they shared in the past.

The actor recalled that Mr Latin played a role in facilitating his first trip to London and had supported him at different points in his career. He said their shared background and years in the entertainment industry made him regard the TAMPAN president as a brother.

Baba Ijesha, however, expressed disappointment over what he described as a lack of communication after his release. He claimed that he called Mr Latin more than 25 times after returning from prison but was unable to establish meaningful contact with him.

According to the actor, he had expected to be able to stay at Mr Latin’s residence after his return but said that did not happen. He also suggested that Mr Latin had become more cautious about situations that could attract public controversy.

Despite the differences, Baba Ijesha said he did not consider the situation a reason to erase the good memories between them. He maintained that Mr Latin had previously contributed positively to his career and that he would continue to acknowledge those gestures.

The comments come amid renewed public attention on Baba Ijesha’s relationship with colleagues following his release from prison in November 2025 after serving a sentence arising from his 2022 conviction. Recent reports have also highlighted his efforts to rebuild his public life through interviews and other appearances.

Baba Ijesha’s latest remarks have once again drawn attention to his relationship with Mr Latin and the wider response of colleagues to his return to public life.
