Social media activist and commentator Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has challenged Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde to explain the steps his administration is taking to secure the release of abducted schoolchildren and their teachers.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

VDM made the demand on Tuesday after leading a protest to the Oyo State Government House, where he was joined by a large crowd of supporters, mainly youths, calling for urgent action to rescue the victims.

Speaking during the demonstration, the activist said members of his Ratel Movement were willing to support security agencies in rescue operations if necessary.

According to him, the protest was aimed at drawing attention to the growing problems of kidnapping, banditry, and terrorism across the country.

“We are here for one reason: we want kidnapping, banditry, and terrorism to end in Nigeria,” he said.

“It is unfortunate that the incident that brought us here happened in Oyo State, although the problem did not start here. However, if this situation can unite us in demanding action, then that is important.

“We are here to ask the governor: when will the children return? What measures are being taken to ensure their safe rescue?

“We also want to make it clear that if additional manpower is needed, we are prepared to volunteer and work alongside the police, military, and other security agencies in the search efforts.

“At the moment, nobody knows the condition of the children or even whether they are still alive,” he added.

Responding to the concerns raised by the protesters, Governor Makinde assured residents that efforts were ongoing and expressed confidence that the abducted pupils and teachers would soon be rescued.
