According to Naija News, the Nigerian leader, accompanied by the First Lady, arrived in Paris on Wednesday evening to kick off the visit, aimed at strengthening Nigeria-France relations. The visit is expected to focus on key diplomatic, political, and economic issues, as well as bilateral cooperation in various sectors.

In a statement released by President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the presidential engagements will begin on Thursday at the historic Les Invalides, where the French President, Emmanuel Macron, and First Lady Brigitte Macron will welcome President Tinubu with full military honours. The ceremony marks the official start of the visit.

The official programme includes a distinguished reception at the Palais de l’Élysée, where President Tinubu will engage with French leaders on a range of topics aimed at enhancing bilateral relations. The visit is expected to focus on collaboration in agriculture, security, education, health, innovation, youth engagement, and energy transition, with the aim of bringing substantial benefits to Nigeria.

One of the key highlights of the visit is a discussion with President Macron on initiatives to promote youth exchange programs and skill development, particularly in areas like automation, entrepreneurship, and leadership. The two leaders are also expected to engage in strategic discussions on shared interests in finance, solid minerals, trade, investment, and communication.

In addition to these diplomatic talks, both President Tinubu and President Macron will attend a session hosted by the France-Nigeria Business Council, which will explore opportunities for private sector involvement in economic development.

Meanwhile, the First Ladies, Brigitte Macron and Oluremi Tinubu, are set to hold talks on initiatives to empower women, children, and vulnerable populations. This includes discussions surrounding Nigeria’s First Lady’s “Renewed Hope Initiative,” aimed at improving the well-being of marginalized groups.

Before concluding their visit, President Tinubu and his wife will attend a state dinner hosted by the French President, marking the end of their diplomatic engagements in Paris.

The visit underscores the growing partnership between Nigeria and France, with a strong focus on mutual cooperation in several key areas.
