Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has commented on the escalating political tension between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his former godfather, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In an interview with Arise Television on Tuesday, Fayose urged Fubara to exercise humility and avoid a power struggle with Wike, who played a key role in his rise to the governorship. He noted that Fubara had little political prominence before Wike brought him into the spotlight and supported his election as governor.

Fayose said:

“There’s a distinction between the office and the title of ‘001.’ Who gave you the platform to call yourself 001? Who gave me the platform? If not my father from the start, it’s a sad narrative for Governor Fubara to be struggling.

“When I was governor, traditional rulers and community leaders would acknowledge my position the moment I arrived. That is respect for the office. There’s no confusion. A governor’s authority goes beyond words.

“It is unfortunate for Fubara to publicly challenge Wike. He should manage the situation wisely. People often say those who give you life are more important than those who give you wealth—without life, wealth is meaningless.

“Three years ago, most of us didn’t even know Fubara. He had no significant political profile. I respect him as governor, but it is not for him to contest the truth about leadership with Wike publicly. We all know the reality.”
