According to the reality TV star, returning to normal life became a challenge as she struggled with the constant attention and public scrutiny that accompanied her newfound fame.

Reflecting on her personal life, Mercy also opened up about her unsuccessful search for a life partner, saying her experiences in relationships have been disappointing.

“I regret going to Big Brother even though I love the benefits that come from it. I dey fall in love like mumu. Now I said to myself that I want to marry, I want to marry, but it’s not easy,” she said.

The actress further disclosed that she had financially supported some of the men she dated because they were struggling.

“I have dated guys that I have given a lot of money to—not one, not two—because they don’t have,” she added.

Mercy also revealed that she eventually relocated abroad in a bid to start afresh, where she had to adapt to a new environment and lifestyle while working to rebuild her life.

Speaking on the downside of celebrity status, she said many people direct their frustrations at public figures because they envy their success and visibility.

“A lot of people are living through you… I feel like that’s where the anger comes from because they wish to be you. They now channel the anger that they should have taken to God to you,” Mercy stated.
