Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, Wike said he was disappointed by what he described as the governor’s misplaced priorities.

He alleged that Fubara has not yet presented the state budget to the Rivers State House of Assembly, but is already preoccupied with securing a second term, a situation he warned could affect governance and service delivery in the state.

Wike stated, “The governor is yet to submit his budget to the House of Assembly but he is busy running for second term ambition.”

Meanwhile, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has accused Wike of exerting influence over governorship candidate selection in both the APC and PDP in Rivers State.

George described the situation as worrisome, warning that it could further destabilise the PDP and the broader political climate if not addressed.

He made the remarks during an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Wednesday, where he also expressed concern over the ongoing crisis within the PDP, calling it unprecedented.

George further criticised some party members aligned with Wike, accusing them of disregarding party rules and due process.
