FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, announces completion of Abuja Light Rail for commercial use following his inspection of the project in Abuja. The project, which received over $15 million in funding, is set to be inaugurated for commercial operations by President Bola Tinubu on May 27.

Expressing gratitude for the project’s completion, Wike highlights President Tinubu’s commitment to delivering on his promise to Nigerians within a year in office. He credits the project’s success to Tinubu’s unwavering support, emphasizing its alignment with Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.

Despite the project’s completion, Wike notes some omitted facilities during the design phase, such as air conditioning in passenger waiting areas and elevators. However, he assures that these will be addressed as the metro line becomes fully operational.

Acknowledging the importance of access roads to the train stations, Wike emphasizes their construction to ensure seamless connectivity for residents accessing the metro line. He concludes by affirming the project’s significance for FCT residents and their future transportation needs.
