African Travel Woes: Dangote’s Struggle With Obtaining 35 Visas....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Africa’s wealthiest tycoon, Aliko Dangote, has voiced his frustration over the challenges encountered by African investors traveling within the continent, citing the necessity for him to obtain 35 different visas using his Nigerian passport.

Dangote made these remarks during the Africa CEO Forum Annual Summit held in Kigali, Rwanda, where he expressed his concerns to President Kagame. He emphasized the cumbersome process of applying for multiple visas and highlighted the time-consuming nature of visiting various embassies.

The billionaire entrepreneur underscored the disparity in visa requirements, contrasting his experience with that of individuals holding passports from other countries, such as France. He pointed out that Patrick Pouyanne, the chairman of Total Energies, does not face the same visa challenges with his French passport when accessing African countries.

Addressing the need to facilitate smoother business transactions across Africa, Dangote stressed the importance of ensuring the functionality of regional markets. He emphasized the pivotal role of the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) in promoting intra-African trade but emphasized the necessity of ensuring its effectiveness.

Dangote highlighted the low intra-trade rate within Africa, which currently stands at less than 16 percent, urging Africans to take proactive steps in driving development on the continent. He emphasized the need for African leadership and collaboration to instill confidence in the continent, attracting support from international partners like Patrick Pouyanne to propel Africa’s growth.
