Temitope Ajayi, the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for his efforts in implementing projects in Abuja. In a statement shared on X on Friday, Ajayi praised Wike’s adeptness in road and bridge construction, remarking that it seemed to be his natural inclination.

Ajayi highlighted Wike’s impactful tenure as the FCT Minister, noting significant transformations within just nine months. He emphasized the unprecedented progress in reviving abandoned infrastructure projects, such as roads, bridges, and the Abuja metro system.

“Wike is very proactive in project execution. Building roads and bridges seems to be his forte. In his 9-month stint as FCT Minister, he has brought about remarkable changes in Abuja. The revival of long-neglected projects is truly remarkable,” Ajayi wrote.

In a related development, Elder statesman and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart, Bode George, defended Wike’s appointment as Minister of the FCT in the All Progressive Congress (APC)-led government. Speaking on Arise TV on Tuesday, George clarified that Wike, a loyal member of the PDP, had communicated his decision to collaborate with the APC government under President Bola Tinubu.

George justified Wike’s appointment by citing historical instances where members of different parties served in governments led by other parties.
