During the inspection on Thursday, Wike recalled his previous visit to the facility and the deadline he had set for the completion of the fencing. He conveyed his passion for the project, highlighting the directive from the President not to overlook its significance. Wike emphasized the need for robust security measures, citing security lapses discovered during earlier visits to the metro station.

Wike revealed his surprise that the fencing contract was not awarded to the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), which raised immediate concerns. He stressed the urgency of addressing security issues before contemplating operational activities. Additionally, Wike expressed dismay over vandalism and theft incidents, despite security contracts awarded to safeguard the area. He vowed to adopt alternative methods to curb criminal activities and eliminate excuses.

The minister expressed his discontent with the poor design of the metro stations, criticizing the approval process that allowed such substandard designs. He urged CCECC to rectify the designs, emphasizing that they were not acceptable even in their home countries. Wike directed that all stations be cleaned and equipped without room for excuses.

Addressing concerns about the design of access roads linking to the stations, Wike questioned whether decisions were rushed without proper evaluation. While acknowledging the existing construction challenges, he urged swift progress, emphasizing his unhappiness with the current state of the project. Wike urged the involved companies to accelerate their efforts, emphasizing the responsibility to fulfill public expectations and the need to make good use of the opportunity granted to them.
