Bekee made the remark on Wednesday while speaking to Arise Television’s Morning Show, amid the ongoing political rivalry between Wike and Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

“What I think Minister Nyesom Wike is doing now is he’s fighting for survival. He’s fighting for survival right now. Nothing more,” Bekee said.

During the interview, Bekee also hinted that governors who recently defected to the APC could receive automatic tickets for a second term, expressing confidence that Fubara will contest in the 2027 elections.

Commenting on Wike’s vow to block Fubara’s re-election bid, Bekee said, “I don’t know the negotiations happening at the top, but I can tell you this: APC has its own ways of conducting elections, whether by consensus or voice vote. Fubara will buy a nomination form to run in the APC 2027 primaries. No automatic ticket will be handed to him.

“If the party decides to hold a fair primary and he emerges as the winner, he will become the party’s candidate for 2027. We believe Rivers State must move forward. There’s no need for crisis. If agreements at the center allow governors a second term, Fubara will get his. Nobody can deny him that.”
