The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Emeka Nwite on Wednesday, approved bail of ₦1 billion each for Malami and his son, Abdulaziz, while his wife, Hajia Bashir Asabe, was granted ₦500 million. Each defendant is required to present two sureties who own property in the Asokoro, Maitama, or Gwarinpa districts of the Federal Capital Territory. The sureties must provide property documents for verification, submit recent passport photographs, and depose to an affidavit of means. All defendants are also required to surrender their passports.
In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Mohammed Bello Doka, Malami urged the public to stay calm and assured that he remains fully committed to the rule of law. He emphasized his respect for due process and the authority of the courts, pledging to comply with all lawful directives and conditions set by the judiciary.
He added, “We urge members of the public to remain calm and patient, as further details regarding this development will be shared shortly.”
