In response, Governor Wike emphasized the administration’s focus on job creation, particularly in the agricultural sector, to provide a sustainable livelihood for the youth in the FCT. Aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the FCT Administration has extended support to security agencies to address security challenges in the region.
Wike highlighted the ongoing infrastructure development in the Abuja city center and Area Councils, emphasizing their dual role in accelerating FCT development and generating employment opportunities for youth involved in the projects.
According to the Governor, job creation is a paramount priority for the administration, and the emphasis is not solely on white-collar jobs. He pointed out that various projects in the area councils have already opened up employment opportunities for youth.
Governor Wike also underscored the FCT’s significant arable lands for agriculture, expressing the administration’s readiness to collaborate with investors in the agricultural sector. This collaboration aims to create employment opportunities for youth and enhance food security in the region.
