Senate Grants Tinubu’s Request To Sack FCCP Boss....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Senate has given its approval to President Bola Tinubu’s request for the dismissal of Babatunde Irukera, the Executive Vice-Chair of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC). Tinubu presented his request in a letter read by Senate President GodsWill Akpabio during Wednesday’s plenary, citing inefficiency as the basis for the dismissal.

According to the FCCPC Act, the President requires the National Assembly’s approval to remove the Executive Vice-Chairman of the Commission. Despite Tinubu having already dismissed Irukera and Alexander Okoh, the Director-General/CEO of the Bureau of Public Enterprises, in January, the Senate’s approval was sought retrospectively.
