Wike’s Aide Calls For TikTok Ban In Nigeria — Citizens React
Lere Olayinka, the spokesperson to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has called for a review or outright ban of the social media platform TikTok in Nigeria.
Olayinka made the call through his social media accounts today while reacting to the recent arrest of a 36-year-old mother accused of allegedly exploiting her 7-year-old daughter to create and publish adult content on TikTok for financial gain.
According to reports, following her arrest, the suspect allegedly claimed that she had made about $300 from posting the content on the platform.
