Wike’s Camp Reacts: ‘No Order From Tinubu To Stop FCT Minister’s Monthly Media Parley
The Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, Lere Olayinka, has refuted claims that the Presidency directed Wike to suspend his monthly media briefings.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Earlier in the week, some reports (not from Naija News) alleged that Aso Rock had barred the former Rivers State governor from holding his popular monthly sessions, purportedly over concerns that his statements could further inflame the political situation in Rivers State.
According to those reports, Wike’s press briefings had become “controversial,” featuring fiery remarks and alleged threats toward political adversaries. They also claimed his sharp criticism of Rivers elders—who have tried to mediate between him and Governor Siminalayi Fubara—had fueled fears of renewed political instability in the state.
However, speaking with Daily Post on Thursday, Olayinka dismissed the claims outright, describing them as “fake.”
As of press time, Wike—who has consistently used his monthly briefings to defend his policies in the FCT and weigh in on national issues—has not issued any personal statement regarding the allegation.
