A 15-year-old girl from Mississippi is currently detained in an adult facility after allegedly attempting to murder her mother.

Lexi Jade Brown reportedly attacked her mother while she slept, seemingly influenced by occult beliefs.

The incident occurred early on June 14 at a residence on Dee Avenue in rural Gulfport, near a large wooded area.

According to the Gulfport Police Department, Brown is facing charges of attempted murder and first-degree arson.

Police responded to a stabbing call at 2:33 a.m. and found Brown’s mother suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The mother told authorities she was asleep when her daughter attacked her. After defending herself, the mother claimed her daughter tried to set the house on fire.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital; her current condition has not been disclosed.

Authorities revealed that Brown confessed to planning the assault for some time. She referred to her mother using derogatory language and alleged that she had been “suppressing the black in her.”
